Analog Codes for Peak-to-Average Ratio Reduction
| Multi-tone modulation (DMT, Discrete Multitone, OFDM, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) has the disadvantage of a quite high peak-toaverage ratio. Clipping of the high amplitudes caused by the analog circuitry leads to additional noise. In this contribution we show that in principal, so-called Analog Codes (Reed-Solomon Codes over complex numbers) can be used for eliminating this noise.
متن کاملReed-Solomon and Simplex Codes for Peak-to-Average Power Ratio Reduction in OFDM
New schemes for peak-to-average power ratio reduction in OFDM systems are proposed. Reed– Solomon and Simplex codes are employed to create a number of candidates, from which the best are selected. Thereby, in contrast to existing approaches, the codes are arranged over a number of OFDM frames rather than over the carriers, hence a combination of the principles of multiple signal representation ...
متن کاملOn Codes with Low Peak-to-Average Power Ratio for Multi-Code CDMA
Codes which reduce the peak-to-average power (PAPR) in multi-code code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) communications systems are systematically studied. The problem of designing such codes is reformulated as a new coding-theoretic problem: codes with low PAPR are ones in which the codewords are far from the rst-order ReedMuller code. Bounds on the trade-o between rate, PAPR and error-correc...
متن کاملPeak-to-Average Power Ratio Reduction Techniques for OFDM Signals
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has been adopted as a standard for many modern wireless applications requiring high data rate due to bandwidth efficiency, resistance to frequency selective fading and simple digital realization using IFFT/FFT operations. However, physical implementation of the OFDM system suffers from several difficulties. One of the major limitations of OFDM i...
